Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested to The Scottish Sun that he wants to sign Scott Bain on a free transfer when his current contract with Dundee runs out at the end of the season.
Bain joined Celtic on loan from Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper will remain at Celtic Park until the end of the season.
The former Aberdeen prospect will become a free agent in the summer of 2018, and Celtic boss Rodgers has suggested that he will look to sign him on a permanent contract then.
When asked if he was thinking of making it a more long-term deal for Bain, beer777 Rodgers told The Scottish Sun: “I think it’s short and long-term.
“It’s pretty clear that he has the temperament and qualities to play as a goalkeeper for Celtic.
“We will sit down with him and see how much he is going to enjoy it and look at his game-time between now and the end of the season.”
Bain made his debut for Celtic last weekend, producing a superb display in the 3-2 victory over Rangers away from home at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
